Salary: $35-45 per hour + Health Benefits or Stipend
Hours: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM (flexible), Monday to Friday (occasional evenings & weekends)
Travel: Summer travel to Europe (Greece, France, etc.) included, along with other school holiday trips and occasional weekend travel (various domestic and international locations)
Job Overview:
We are seeking an active, experienced, and reliable nanny with a strong background in early childhood care and a passion for fostering child development through hands-on, educational activities. This live-out position is for someone who enjoys creating a structured and nurturing environment for a 1-year-old. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, excellent at managing daily schedules, and able to provide the kind of developmental support that helps children grow independently and creatively (Montessori-style).
In addition to summer vacation travel, the nanny will join the family on other school holiday trips and occasional weekend travel to various domestic and international locations. You will also take initiative in preparing different learning activities and goals for the week ahead, which you will discuss with the mother to ensure consistency and developmental progress.
Responsibilities:
Childcare: Provide attentive, high-quality care for a 1-year-old boy, ensuring his well-being at all times.
Learning & Development: Engage the child with age-appropriate educational activities that promote independence, creativity, and curiosity.
Scheduling & Organization: Manage daily routines, including meals, naps, outings, and playtime, ensuring consistency and structure.
Travel: Accompany the family on summer trips to Europe, other school holidays, and occasional weekend trips (both domestic and international), maintaining routine and care while traveling.
Car Use: Use the family car for child-related tasks, including trips to the park, appointments, or activities. You will also need your own vehicle for commuting to and from work.
Household Tasks: Light housekeeping related to the child, such as tidying up play areas, laundry, and preparing snacks and meals.
Communication: Keep the parents informed about the child’s progress, behavior, and any concerns.
Safety & Well-Being: Ensure the child’s safety at all times, promoting a healthy and positive environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional nanny experience, with a strong focus on infants and toddlers.
Experience with educational methods that promote child development and independence.
Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills to manage daily routines.
Comfortable with travel and adaptable to new environments.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable car for commuting.
Ability to drive the family car for child-related tasks.
Energetic, compassionate, and patient with a genuine love for working with children.
CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).
Must have a clean background check and excellent references.
Fluent in English (additional language skills a plus).
Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive hourly wage of $35-45 per hour, depending on experience.
Health benefits or stipend offered.
2 weeks of vacation time.
